Mariana Garcia | Program Coordinator

Mariana is a bright, capable team player who takes initiative quickly and with enthusiasm. She is a hard worker with good instincts who enjoys problem solving within the big picture context.

Mariana began her career with the City of Chula Vista, CA as an Economic Development Coordinator I, later transferring those skills to the City of San Leandro, CA as an Economic Development Coordinator II. In these roles, she established and maintained relationships with businesses, property owners, and developers. She managed business incentive programs, administered bid processes, oversaw contractor workflows, and developed marketing materials for city, state, and federal programs.

In 2019, she left the municipal sector to enter the nonprofit world, serving as Director of Operations for Human Connections. In this role, she managed the organizations accounting, annual budgeting process, and provided staff oversight. She now serves on this organization’s board as Treasurer.
